Sara Trunzo is a songwriter, community organizer, and creator/host of “Country & Northeastern” radio show. Trunzo has collaborated with Darrell Scott and Mary Gauthier; shared stages with Suzy Bogguss, Carlene Carter, and Malcolm Holcombe; and played venues such as The Bluebird, Club Passim, and Birthplace of Country Music Museum. She has been a Joseph A. Fiore fellow, Music to Life juried artist, and received recognition from International Acoustic Music Awards, New England Songwriting Competition, Tennessee Songwriters’ Week, Hazel Dickens Contest, and others. She is on the board of Maine Songwriters Association, Documentary Songwriters, and WERU Community Radio. Her 4th record, Better Than I Was, came out June 27, 2025 and went to #16 on the international folk radio charts. Her band is: Andre Lascoutx (guitars), Dan MacLeod (bass and mandolin), and Connor MacLeod (banjo).
Very Greasy is a collaboration of Mid-Coast Maine musicians Dan Kelly, Andre Lascoutx, Erik Hallsey, & Sam Yawdik. The name is derived from their mutual love of “maxi-instrumentalist” David Lindley and his band El Rayo-X; whose 3rd album is called “Very Greasy.” They play an eclectic mix of rock & dance music with select choices from El Rayo-X’s discography along with classic songs from Paul Simon, Taj Mahal, Bruce Cockburn, Ry Cooder & more. Very Greasy is: Dan Kelly (guitar & vocals), Andre Lascoutx (guitar & vocals), Erik Hallsey (electric bass), and Sam Yawdik (drums & vocals ).
WERU Community Radio is an independent, listener-supported and volunteer-powered media organization, whose mission is to provide diverse programming to lift spirits, raise awareness and make connections. WERU is a “voice of many voices” that shares a wide variety of music, information, and perspectives with the community, over the airwaves, internet, and mobile app.
